25 Jul The Comeback City is Home to INDUSTRY 2016
Here in Cleveland, Ohio, we’ve heard all of the jokes. Whether it’s about the Burning River, the “Mistake on the Lake”, or even our homegrown basketball star, LeBron James, ditching us to take his talents to South Beach. There’s nothing you can say about our city that we haven’t heard before.
But a funny thing has happened here in Cleveland. We came back. In a big, big way.
The only “Burning River” you’ll find here is the 10-time award winning beer brewed by local craft powerhouse, Great Lakes Brewery. Buzzfeed sure doesn’t think anybody is making a mistake moving here, with Cleveland sitting at #2 on their list of places thirtysomething’s should pick up and move to (above Vancouver, New York, and San Diego). And in case you haven’t noticed, LeBron came back home. But we’re pretty sure you noticed.
Chances are, you’ve started to see some of what Cleveland has to offer throughout its summer fling with the national media. Cleveland served as a backdrop of one of the most historic Championship runs in NBA history — and the spotlight shined equally as the Today Show, Good Morning America, Twitter, and every cable news station picked up and relocated to our downtown during the Republican National Convention.
If it sounds like we’re bragging a bit… well, we are. We at Product Collective are proud to call Cleveland home, both for ourselves and our flagship event, INDUSTRY. And we think that our town will treat you quite well if you make your way out this September. But don’t just take our word for it:
- If you’re a beer lover, Travel + Leisure thinks you’ll fall in love here.
- You say you’re a foodie? Thrillist says Ohio City is the place to be, and CNN loves our donuts.
- And the New York Times picked Cleveland as one of it’s bucket list locations to visit just last year.
Of course, we know that when you book your trip to INDUSTRY, you’re coming to learn from the best product people in the world — like Ken Norton of Google Ventures, Erica Baker of Slack, Ryan Spoon of ESPN, and 10 others. We know you want to mingle with the other product people attending from all over the country and from as far away as Singapore and Australia.
But we think you’ll enjoy our comeback city just as much. And for that… you’re welcome!
